Daily Dispatches launched as an educational and journalistic collaboration with three American colleges. The first outing was in Nairobi, Kenya. There we showed a fast-evolving 21st-century African city unfolding day-by-day in real time.

Each day, the photographer Brendan Bannon and writer Mike Plfanz searched out stories from all corners of Kenya’s capital to create a compelling, informative and surprising portrait of the city, and the lives lived by those who call it home. Each day, they sent their images and reports back to the partner universities and colleges where they were printed and mounted in public space in an exhibition that grew day-by-day.
